Vintage Calisthenics Clubs – flat base
Email to a friendDescription
These heavy, old calisthenics clubs really gave the user a work-out.
Note the STRIPES are not spiralled…we suspect that the spiralled clubs came in to fashion in early 1970’s
Unsure of the age of these 14″ clubs. Possibly 1960’s.
The balls are around the same size as we use today but the painting is obviously hand done as the stripes are at uneven intervals and start a long way from the ball end.
The thicker part of the club is quite bulbus with a larger flat area than todays clubs. The base measures 4cms wide!
This particualar pair have the initials ‘JKC’ enscribed into the balls.
Each club has a different weight: 163 & 166 grams. Wood: unknown – perhaps teak?
